Antiquity LaShay

Antiquity is back on the bridge again. One must realize that although you have burned one bridge doesn't mean you can't build another somewhere else. As the sun embraces her, she recognizes that her possibilities are endless. Her future is as beautiful as the 5 o' clock sun and she must embrace it. She stands beautifully exuberating strength and prosperity. She knows that God has her best interest at heart and would never give her more than she can bear. With humility, strength, confidence, and faith she sets foot on the bridge again toward success.

Antiquity: normally used to describe something ancient, but in Keyona's case she is something of sentimental and great value.

A beauiful contribution to this world.

Antiquity LaShay is styled in the original works of Tara Baker of Hands Create Texture. You can see more of her works here. Antiquity is a creative spirit of many talents. Check here for more creations.

DTrundle The Artist ...

A brief pictorial of fashion and glamour as seen thru the eyes of Deontae Trundle (DTrundle). These are editorial fashion captures with a naptual beauty twist. His work, here, is but a small representation of the young talent with broad vision; a vision that he believes transcends the label of Photographer, making him "The Artist".

His words:
"To me the definition of an artist is the ability to walk through everyday life, see the creativity in it and then transform that vision into some form of art that we can see, hear, touch or feel.

As “The Artist” I feel that I do just that and being able to see, hear and feel the art in life is truly a gift. There is a story to be told in everything and everyone you just have to be willing and open to listen to it. "

I look forward to see what's next with "The Artist" his talent and expertise are extraordinary. Look for the launch of his website www.DTrundle.com coming VERY soon (like next week or something). I hope he comes back to the Garden with some visual stories to tell.

the Organic Soul Crew

DORLIS ... HERMOSDEF ... KIJA
THE ORGANIC SOUL CREW

The Organic Soul Crew was created by these three talented and visionary photographers to change the way French people see the black community in France as more than dancers or soccer players. January of this year Hermosdef was found dead in Paris and this entry is dedicated to his memory.

Hermann DEZA aka HERMOSDEF was born in Paris in 1975, the 3rd child of migrants from Ivory Coast, West Africa. The 2 great passions of his life were music and photography. Not wanting to choose one over the other Hermosdef worked to entwine and combine these 2 worlds in his work. He said that he had been told that his pictures have a "whole lot of Soul". He came to call his art AFROPICS. You can see more of his past works here.

DORLIS, after living for sometime in Paris, now resides in Guadelope, French West Indies. His mother was French while his father was from Martinque. Doris' works have been featured here in the past and you can see more of his work here as well.

KIJA aka SupaKija aka Jacky Gotin was born in Guadeloupe. He says his images are influenced by the music I like. His works have won over the critics with some of the statements made in reference to his works were "Kija's photos are very strong and deeply mooving... I'd really like to see the world as he does..." by Filipe Ferreia and "To put it simply, Jacky was born to do this; to remind us that our loveliness is a reflection of this lovely world - full of lush beauty and color at every turn and in every moment!" You can check out his blog here his previous poetic entry for the Garden here.

Sheree Swann's Lens of Life

Sheree Swann loves capturing the unique beautiful in all people. Finding photography liberating, she uses it to create opportunities to elevate her mind and spirit. Her images are, fascinating explorations and sensuously artistic. They are funky and they are fierce, appealing to that edgy quality in us all.

Life, the way Sheree see it, "is bold, colorful and full of contrast", which is reflected in her work.

"I love to show people how I see them, in the light of being beautiful, even if they don’t see that beauty in themselves. With that, I will continue to create art through the reflection of my lens." Sheree, says.

Sheree created Lens of Life, her photography and videography company, in 2004. To see more of breathtaking images, check out her website here.

passionate self-portraits by xxmisa

Impressively creative explorations in self-portraiture are only one of the reasons I was impressed by the works of this young photography enthusiast. When you see XXMISA's works, you see the chronicles of a talent on the road of discovery. Her artistic approaches to composition and post processing will leave you entertained and inspired. And I find her subjects to be insightful and potentially provocative. She's doing great work now; I look forward to watching her grow. And when you see more of works here, you will see that these images are just the tip of the iceberg.

a subtle artful vanisha...

Last year we were playing around in studio with a big jacket, a ladder and a playfully dramatic dance of light & shadow with monochromes. As usual Vanisha is her typically inspiring self. She's moved away for a while to perform in the Wiz in one Georgial coastal cities. And I miss her already. Follow her daily exploits at Dailey on the Daily

cool jazz with lois lane...

We were in a living room that felt like a cool jazz set when I took these shots. I was trying to get a feel for a shoot I wanted to do in the future that focused on this fascinating aspect of LL's character.

You see, she's a jazz bassist, whose secret identity is that of a med student. To say she is busy is an understatement. But we kicked back and talked. Relaxed and came up with a couple of ideas for shoots. I've Already shown you one of them here. This is the other.

The names on the shots are Jazz Musicians she admires. I think I want to incorporate their music in the set we do for the portal. What do you think?
