It started here. People gathered together to enjoy the music, dancing, and the fellowship of family and friends. Enterprising black men and women hawked their wares to curious, the hungry and the cultured. Children were on the swings with parents watching over them. Brothers promoted their politics. Artists promoted their works. Sisters crafted magic with hair. Families relaxed on quilts and blankets. It all started here.
